LANXESS at CIIE, Booth 3A3-003, German Pavilion, Hall 3, November 5-10, 2018

Shanghai – October 9, 2018 – Specialty chemicals company LANXESS will exhibit at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) held from November 5-10, 2018 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China. The company will showcase products and solutions supporting China’s high-quality development in areas such as new mobility and urbanization. Underscoring LANXESS’ heritage, the booth will be part of the German Pavilion in the exhibition’s High-end Intelligent Equipment area.

“We are proud to be part of the first CIIE held in China,” LANXESS Asia President Ming Cheng Chien said. “Witnessing China’s rapid growth, we have taken deep roots here over the past 40 years. From 2005 to 2017, China’s share of LANXESS’ global business has already increased from 7% to 13%. We see enormous potential for our future growth in China as the country enters a new development stage with consumer upgrading, demand-driven reform and environmental protection.”

Establishing the CIIE is a significant move by the Chinese government to give firm support to trade liberalization, economic globalization and actively opening the Chinese market to the world. The initiative was announced in May 2017 by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. This year, over 2,800 companies from over 130 countries and regions are slated to exhibit, 170 of which will be from Germany.

LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with sales of EUR 9.7 billion in 2017 and about 19,200 employees in 25 countries. The company is currently represented at 74 production sites worldwide. The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacturing and marketing of chemical intermediates, additives, specialty chemicals and plastics. LANXESS is listed in the leading sustainability indices Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World and Europe) and FTSE4Good.
