LANXESS Greater China CEO Ming Cheng Chien to lead new APAC region

Shanghai – July 23, 2018 – German specialty chemicals company LANXESS will establish a new regional structure for the growth in the region. As part of the new organization, Greater China CEO Ming Cheng Chien will be appointed as Regional Head of the company’s APAC (Asia-Pacific) region effective Aug. 1, 2018. He is based in Shanghai, China.


“Asia-Pacific is one of our most important regions and plays a crucial role in our future plans,” said Matthias Zachert, Chairman of the Board of Management at LANXESS. “The new regional organization under the leadership of Ming Cheng Chien is specifically geared toward driving growth in the coming years.”


The APAC region is comprised of Greater China, Japan, Korea and the ASEAN countries. With 2.7 billion euros of sales, the region accounted for 27.9 percent of global turnover in 2017. It is home to 16.8 percent of global employees and encompasses 12 production sites.
